The excitement is ramping up for WWE 2K22 following the release of an announcement trailer during WrestleMania 37 for the series return.

The issues with WWE 2K20, and the impact of the global pandemic, led to the complete cancellation of WWE 2K21, but WWE 2K22 is finally ready to bring the series back.

With all that time between games, and the influx of a new competitor in AEW, right now fans can expect over three dozen superstars from WWE 2K20 to be missing from the WWE 2K22 roster.

Every WWE 2K20 superstar that won't be in WWE 2K22

WWE 2K20 was released on October 22, 2019, and at that time AEW Dynamite had only been on the air for a few short weeks and the global pandemic didn't exist.

While the WWE 2K22 release date is at least a few months away, the many superstars released by the company both recently and over the last few years is growing.

As of right now, these 37 superstars from the WWE 2K20 roster will not be in WWE 2K22 because they either left WWE or were released by the company:

  • Akam
  • Andrade
  • Big Show
  • Billie Kay
  • Bo Dallas
  • Christian
  • Curt Hawkins
  • Curtis Axel
  • Dash Wilder
  • EC3
  • Eric Young
  • Harper
  • Heath Slater
  • Jack Gallagher
  • Jake Roberts

  • Rezar
  • Rowan
  • Rusev
  • Sting
  • Samoa Joe
  • Sarah Logan

Perhaps the biggest names on this list are Sting, Samoa Joe, Christian, and Rusev (now known as Miro), but the sheer total shows the turnover in WWE since the release of WWE 2K20.

As of now, 13 of these 37 wrestlers have appeared on AEW television following their departure from WWE, and it will be interesting to see if any of them land in the eventual AEW console game.
