When does WWE 2K23 come out?

We're just over six months out from the launch of WWE 2K22, but that game set a precedent likely to be followed by the upcoming WWE 2K23.

While the WWE sim series has long been an autumn release for the past two decades, WWE 2K22 broke the mold by launching in March 2022.

This timed the game right around WrestleMania, but in many ways it was a happy accident owed to extensive development and the aftermath of the series' past failures.

WWE 2K20 essentially bombed on every level, and 2K had a very clear understanding of the reality that WWE 2K22 had to deliver for them to salvage the franchise following the cancellation of WWE 2K21 (exacerbated by the global pandemic).

However, the precedent set isn't a bad one, as we now look ahead and predict the WWE 2K23 release date is likely to be Friday, March 10, 2023.

Nothing is official just yet, but that timing would fit in the buildup to WrestleMania 39.

When will we know more about WWE 2K23?

Despite the lack of official news, except for the game's confirmation via Take-Two financial reports, we have a pretty good idea when more will be revealed.

We're likely still a few months out, as we expect most of the major WWE 2K23 reveals to arrive in January 2023.

January reveals were the plan for WWE 2K23, and the timing of announcing about two months prior to launch is fairly common for annual sports games.

On top of that, WWE has the built-in timeline opportunity of announcing WWE 2K23 during the hype for Royal Rumble, which also kicks off the road to WrestleMania 38.
