The Addiction start their attack on ROH
The Young Bucks defended their tag titles against The Motor City Machine Guns in a great match in the main event. It’s no surprise that The Bucks were as amazingly over as ever, with the fans getting behind everything they did with pure jubilation. Say what you want about their style of wrestling but it’s incredible how popular they have become without the backing of a major company and they are the closest thing to international superstars that you can get outside of the WWE. This was a fast-paced affair from the get go and the Bucks seemed to be on their way to the win when Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian hit the ring, attacking everybody, including the referee and a fan stood at ringside in a Bullet Club shirt. They seem to be making good on their recent promise of ruining everything the fans love about Ring of Honor.
The Rebellion move on and Woods continues his progress
Two of the newer guys in Ring of Honor came together as Shane Taylor went up against this year’s Top Prospect winner, Josh Woods, after attacking him a few weeks ago. QT Marshall joined the commentary team and spent most of the match cheering on Taylor. Woods got the win in a good match, getting a roll up on his bigger opponent after Taylor brought a chair into the ring. After the match, QT Marshall came to the ring and encouraged Taylor in his attack, eventually handing him over an envelope full of money as his reward for taking out Woods. While he may still be pretty new to the business, Josh Woods still showed his promise and with his amateur ability, size, and look, he could be one to keep an eye on over the over the next few years.
Elsewhere on the show, Taylors ex-Rebellion teammates had separate backstage promos, as Caprice Coleman berated a group of backstage workers for not having the equipment ready for his new Coleman’s Pulpit segment, while Kenny King cut a promo saying that we are going to see the best of him when he challenges Kushida for the ROH TV title at Death Before Dishonor.
Look out Cody, Suzuki is coming
It was announced that Minoru Suzuki will be answering Cody’s open challenge and will be facing the champion for the title at the upcoming Death Before Dishonor show. Cody reacted to the news like we all would – by smashing up the locker room with a look of terror. Good luck Cody, you’re gonna need it.
