After nearly two years of players playing Shadowlands, Blizzard Entertainment has finally revealed what's next to come for World of Warcraft — the new expansion, WoW Dragonflight.
With dragons and the return of the Dragon Isles at the forefront, Azeroth's heroes will come back from defeating the Jailer and begin to uncover one of their home world's most mysterious zones.
It'll feature a new race, the Dracthyr, a new class, the Evoker, and plenty of new and exciting features such as Dragonriding, a revamped Talent system, and more.
That begs the question: When will WoW: Dragonflight come out? Here's what we know about the game's release date and timeline so far.
LATEST - Pre-Order Dragonflight NOW!
As of June 21, players can Pre-Order WoW Dragonflight.
The expansion is set to release in four editions, Base, Epic, Heroic, and Collector's, and brings forth tons of goodies for players to enjoy.

When does WoW Dragonflight come out?
As of right now, WoW Dragonflight has no official release date, however, based on the Battle.net shop for the expansion's pre-order information, Dragonflight will be releasing on or before December 31, 2022.
This comes as a surprise as looking at past expansions' release dates and how Shadowlands has gone as a whole, it could be seen as a bit too early.
Almost every WoW expansion has followed a rule of releasing between August and December, and most expansions are separated by two-year gaps.
Due to how Shadowlands has panned out, only having two patches with a record length of time in between, as well as Blizzard's pattern of expansion reveal to release date, WoW Dragonflight was likely to break the mold and arrive in the early months of 2023.
It would have aligned well with the expansion's reveal date, which was on April 19, 2022.

WoW Dragonflight Alpha & Beta
With no official release date in sight, the next avenue for players to experience the Dragonflight expansion would be through the Alpha and Beta.
As of right now, WoW Dragonflight has no official release date, however, based on the Battle.net shop for the expansion's pre-order information, Dragonflight will be releasing on or before December 31, 2022.
When it comes to the beta's release date, there is also nothing confirmed just yet. Going by past expansions, however, we expect the beta to go live somewhat soon as the deadline of December is fast approaching. Something like early August with September as the latest month.
This would give the expansion several months before its beta is accessible for players.
Additionally, there are new bits of information to suggest that a Dragonflight Alpha should be coming relatively soon although it too doesn't possess a start date.
