NRL Grand Final Teamlists Announced

The Melbourne Storm and North Queensland Cowboys have officially announced their combatants for this Sunday's NRL Grand Final.

Paul Green and Craig Bellamy have confirmed their 21-man squads for this Sunday’s NRL Grand Final and there are few surprises across the board.

The heavily-favoured Melbourne Storm have been a well-oiled machine across the 2017 finals and named their side as expected. Hulking prop forward Matt Scott is listed amongst their reserves though he’s unlikely to make a return unless one of the Cowboys’ 17 pick up an injury.

The announcement officially ends any speculation that champion half-back Johnathan Thurston could make a shock return from injury for the decider, Green himself has said he will stay loyal to the 17 that got the Cowboys this far, even if it means leaving out co-captain Scott.

The Storm enter the decider as heavy favourites but there will likely be a swell of public support in Sydney and in ANZ Stadium for the Cowboys, seen by many as the underdogs in the contest.

Try-scoring wingers Josh Addo-Carr and Suliasi Vunivalu have been named as expected for the Melbourne Storm and pose a serious threat to the Cowboys’ defence while half Michael Morgan has been in the form of his life through the finals series for the North Queensland side.
