After being blocked from Playstation users with no explanation five years ago, EA Access is finally available on PS4.
On the 25th of July, Sony and EA launched Access on the
platform.
This means that PS4 players can get their hands on FIFA 20 from
19th September.
Before the
subscription
model really caught on, EA released the service allowing gamers to pay a monthly charge to play their favourite titles.

Xbox players reaped the benefits of Access whilst PS4 users have had a five-year delay on the rival console players.
One small difference
A point to note is that the PS4 EA Access library will be smaller than that of the Xbox One. This is due to the fact that unlike the Xbox One, the PS4 does not have backward compatibility. The pricing for access at £3.99 / $4.99 a month or $30 USD/year.

This means that from as little as £3.00 a month you can play
, Battlefield V and many more fan favourite titles.
Is it worth it?
With EA Access, gamers can download dozens of digital titles without paying full price, and you can play trials of new EA games before the release date.

EA Access includes over 50 games from the EA catalogue including popular pre-order titles like the
FIFA 20 and Battlefield V with more to be added as time goes on.
Subscribers also get a discount on purchases of digital games direct on their console that can cover the cost of paying for EA Access over time.
Why has it taken so long?
It was strange that EA Access was only available on Xbox - perhaps they had agreed a deal with Microsoft?
In an interview with
, EA chief operating office Peter Moore said:
"It’s on Xbox One, and those customers love it. We have analytics on everything these days, and subscriber satisfaction rates are through the roof. EA Access customers get to play more, because of the Vault, they get to play early, ahead of general release date, and they get to pay less because of the discounts it offers."
Although not entirely clear, he does suggest that because of the backwards compatibility Vault, there was always more for Xbox users to choose from. With the service having been out for five years, that is five years' worth of games that are now available on PS4.
It does have a sense of 'too little, too late' about it, with the next generation of consoles set to be in our homes within the next 12-18 months.
