We are finally approaching the long-awaited moment of the UFC 5 release date. After years of waiting, EA has begun to tease the next instalment of its octagon saga.

It's been more than three years since UFC 4 was released to solid reviews, so fans have had to wait a long time for this one. New stars have risen as old rivals retire. But when can players expect to dive into the new game?

Latest news - New features announced

EA is going all-out with UFC 5. The game will make use of the Frostbite engine for the first time in the franchise and is packed with new features.

From improved blood & damage, both visually and functionally, that gives the game an M rating to updated submission systems and strikes to the addition of the fight doctor.

UFC 5 release date confirmed

Fans have been waiting an age for the next release in EA's UFC franchise, but now we finally have a date to circle on the calendar!

UFC 5 is releasing on 27 October. That's not all though, as there is early access too!

Early access

Most EA Sports titles launch with at least one edition that allows early access to the game, and UFC 5 is no different.

FIGHT TIME: Anticipation is already building for the next release

The Deluxe Edition will include three days of early access for those willing to pay a little more.

That means Deluxe Edition players can start their MMA journey on 24 October. If you want to pre-order UFC 5 you can also get Fedor Emelianenko, Muhammad Ali, and Mike Tyson as bonus fighters!

EA Play trial

Anyone who plays FIFA, now EA Sports FC, or Madden will be familiar with the EA Play trial.

EARLY ACCESS: We'll likely see another EA Play Trial ahead of launch

EA Sports games almost always get a 10-hour trial that is exclusive to EA Play subscribers. This trial can occasionally be before the game has launched but often unlocks on the release date to allow members to try it before they buy.

We fully expect UFC 5 to get this trial, especially with the game returning after such a long time.
