We are one week away from naming 2019's Christmas No.1 game, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is currently in prime position to pick up the crown.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is on track to take the crown

A surprise entry in the chart, Star Wars: Fallen Order is currently sitting at No.2

Call of Duty was also only a few thousand sales ahead of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, which is probably benefitting from the excitement around the upcoming Star Wars movie -- The Rise of Skywalker.

Sales for the game have risen by an average of 30% week-on-week, and if it manages to pull it off for another week (not unthinkable with the release of the movie), it might be a rare year where neither Call of Duty nor FIFA take home the crown.

As an outside bet for Christmas No.1 is Mario Kart 8: Deluxe, which has enjoyed a very strong month following the launch of a special Nintendo Switch bundle.
