When is the 2022/23 FA Community Shield?

The FA Community Shield is a historic occasion in the annual British sporting calendar, marking the beginning of the domestic football season and the first opportunity to claim silverware.

The 2022 iteration will be a momentous occasion as Premier League champions Manchester City take on FA Cup winners and Champions League runners-up Liverpool in a grudge match on the biggest stage.

Both sides have strengthened significantly in the summer transfer window with Man City drafting in Norwegian sensation Erling Haaland, Leeds midfielder Kalvin Phillips and Argentine wonderkid Julian Alvarez.

Liverpool, meanwhile, have reacted to the loss of Sadio Mane by spending a mouth-watering fee on Uruguayan forward Darwin Nunez, while Fulham's Portuguese starlet Fabio Carvalho has also linked up with the squad.

With the showpiece event just around the corner, here are all the key dates and times you need for the 2022 Community Shield.
