When does the Premier League stop for the World Cup 2022?

The 2022/23 Premier League season is well underway with Manchester City and Arsenal battling it out at the top end of the table, but attention will soon turn to the World Cup in Qatar.

World Cup football has traditionally been played during the summer months, but the scorching temperatures of the Qatari desert mean that the 2022 FIFA World Cup will be played in winter for the first time ever.

When does the Premier League stop for the World Cup?

The World Cup break is closer than you may think for Premier League clubs with the 2022/23 domestic season set to be put on hold in early to mid November.

The final round of Premier League fixtures before the break will take place across the 12th and 12th of November, with players then heading off for the final pre-World Cup preparation.

When does the Premier League resume after the World Cup?

Boxing Day is always a big day in the sporting calendar for football fans, but in 2022 it will be an even more momentous occasion.

Premier League football will return to our screens after the 2022 World Cup on Boxing Day with the traditional full docket of December 26th fixtures.
