Spanish tennis star Roberto Bautista Agut has been forced to withdraw from Wimbledon 2022 after testing positive for COVID-19.

Here is everything we know so far.

Roberto Bautista Agut withdraws from Wimbledon

Roberto Bautista Agut has been forced to withdraw from the 2022 Wimbledon Men's Singles championship ahead of his match with Daniel Alahi Galan after testing positive for COVID-19.

The 34-year-old Spaniard was set to battle for a place in the third round after cruising past Hungary's Attila Balazs in straight sets in the first round, but his 2022 Wimbledon journey has come to a frustrating premature end.

Bautista Agut becomes the third player to withdraw due to COVID-19-related issues after Men's Singles contenders Marin Cilic and Matteo Berrettini were both forced to exit the tournament earlier this week.

Colombia's Galan now enjoys a walkover victory, sending him into the third round of the Men's Singles draw for the first-ever time.

Wimbledon Men's Singles Betting Odds

Novak Djokovic remains the outright favourite to win the 2022 Wimbledon Men's Singles title after cruising through the first two rounds, while Rafael Nadal is considered his nearest challenger, priced up at 4/1.

Spanish starlet Carlos Alcaraz is the third favourite for the tournament at 10/1, while fourth seed Stefanos Tsitsipas is also well-fancied. Andy Murray's second-round defeat means that British No.1 Cameron Norrie is now the home nation's best hope, according to the bookies.
