Predicted lineups ahead of Liverpool vs Real Madrid

The UEFA Champions League quarter-finals continue tonight, as Liverpool take on Real Madrid at Anfield in a giant second leg clash.

The Spanish Champions take a 3-1 lead into the return leg but will face a fighting Liverpool side who came back to win their first home game of 2021 at the weekend.

Both domestic champions sides have struggled with injuries all season long.

Notable exclusions from tonight's fixture are world-class centre backs Virgil Van Dijk and Sergio Ramos.

Liverpool should have midfielder Curtis Jones back for Wednesday's crunch Champions League quarter-final second leg with Real Madrid.

Long-term absentees Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Jordan Henderson and Joel Matip remain out, meaning the inexperienced centre-back pairing of Ozan Kabak and Nat Phillips is likely to be retained.

Real Madrid Predicted 11

Real Madrid have added Lucas Vazquez to their lengthy injury list ahead of Wednesday's trip to Anfield.

The Spain international, who played right-back in last week's 3-1 victory, was substituted in Real's El Clasico win over Barcelona at the weekend and was subsequently diagnosed with a cruciate ligament sprain in his left knee.

Real are also unsure on the fitness of Federico Valverde after bruising his foot though he is expected to recover, the same cannot be said for Eden Hazard, Sergio Ramos, Raphael Varane or Dani Carvajal.

The Reds are battling for a top-four finish in the Premier League - keeping themselves in the running with a weekend win over Arsenal - while Los Blancos currently sit at second in LaLiga, with Barcelona hot on their heals.

The return leg of Liverpool vs Real Madrid will be played on Wednesday, 14 April at 3pm ET / 8pm BST.

Whichever side makes it through to the semi-finals will play Chelsea or Porto on Tuesday 27 / Wednesday, 28 April, with the second leg set to take place on Tuesday 4 / Wednesday, 5 May.

Raphael Varane could also return for the second leg of the quarter-final after he was ruled out of leg one with the Coronavirus.
