Earlier this week Capcom announced the RE Showcase, giving us a first glimpse at what to expect from the Resident Evil franchise over the coming weeks and months.
Here is everything we'd like to see from the showcase.
Resident Evil 8 Release Date
During the announcement it was revealed that we would be seeing gameplay for the upcoming Resident Evil 8 for the first time.
Along with the gameplay, it would be great to see a release date for the gaming announced.
It has been rumoured for a while that April is when the game will be released, but nothing has been confirmed.

The last few RE titles have been released in either January or April, so unless Capcom drop RE8 immediately after the event, I think we can rule out January as the release date.

Instead, April does seem like a likely release date, otherwise we will have to wait until Autumn because most developers opt not to release games during the summer.
Resident Evil 4 Remake Announcement
After the success of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 Remake, fans immediately speculated at the possibility of a Resident Evil 4 Remake, with "leakers" claiming it is in the works.

Many fans would be excited to hear that the game is in production as it is often regarded as one of the greatest games of all time, and helped shape how action games would play over the next decade with mechanics such as Quick Time Events.
Another possibility is a Code Veronica Remake, it was the next game in the series after RE3 so it would make sense, but it isn't as popular of a game as the numbered games, despite intending to be the original RE3.
Live Action Movie Release Date
In 2020 we found out about a new live action movie reboot for Resident Evil.
In 2002 the first Resident Evil movie was released, followed by numerous others.
These were directed by Paul W.S. Anderson and starred Milla Jovovich as Alice.

Despite grossing over $1 billion, the series hasn't been fondly remembered by fans.
A reboot was announced, sticking closer to the original source material.
Towards the end of 2020 we began seeing many pictures of sets from the movie, with many looking strikingly similar to their video game counterparts.
It has been confirmed that filming has wrapped up so hopefully the movie won't be too far away.
The current expected release date is September 9th 2021, but official confirmation from Capcom would be great news to hear, also seeing a trailer would be the icing on the cake.
Animated Netflix Movie Release Date
A animated Resident Evil movie is being produced for release on Netflix.
This will star Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield, bringing the iconic duo back together for the first time since 2008's Resident Evil: Degeneration.

Manga Release Date
To round off the 25th anniversary of Resident Evil is the new Resident Evil manga.
Announced during New York Comic Con’s MetaVerse online event, the new manga is set to release in 2021 and will coincide with the animated movie Infinite Darkness.
This won't be the first time a Resident Evil manga has been released, with various being released over the years, including the popular Chinese manhuas.

2021 is set to be a huge year for Resident Evil as it celebrated its 25th anniversary.
The first Resident Evil game was released on March 22nd 1996 in Japan, the series is called Biohazard in Japan.
Since then, the series has gone on to sell over 105 million copies, making it one of the most successful gaming franchises of all time.
