The RE Showcase took place tonight, giving us a first look at the gameplay for Resident Evil 8, as well as many other details including its release date.
Resident Evil 8 Release Date
During the event, it was revealed that Resident Evil 8 will be released worldwide on May 7th 2021 on all platforms.
Extra Content
Resident Evil 8 will be available as the Standard Edition or a Deluxe Edition.
Standard Edition
Both versions will come with the new multiplayer game Re:Verse, as well as the RE8 DLC Mr Raccoon Weapon Charm, and Survival Resources Pack.
The Mr Raccoon Weapon Charm appears to be a cosmetic item and will provide no benefits to the player's weapon.

And the Survival Resources Pack will be obtainable from the Merchant in each playthrough and will include handgun ammo, shotgun ammo, a first aid med pack, and a lockpick.
Deluxe Edition
The Deluxe Edition will also include the Trauma Pack which will includes memorabilia such as the "Samurai Edge" weapon, the "Mr. Everywhere" accessory, a screen filter, special safe room background music, and many more items to help dredge up Ethan's past.

Resident Evil 8 Trailer
A new trailer was released for Resident Evil 8, giving us a greater insight into who the mysterious tall woman is, as well as more backstory between Ethan and Mia.
RE8 Gameplay
We got a first look at the gameplay for Resident Evil 8, which features a similar menu screen as RE4, along with a new crafting menu which will allow players to craft ammo and healables.
The Merchant will be making a return, having not been seen since Resident Evil 4.
His appearance is vastly different than what we saw in RE4, and he will now be known as The Duke, but the concept is the same.
