With Lebron James entering his 20th year in the NBA, Nike has revealed the King's next signature sneaker as the LeBron XX in a colourway titled the "Time Machine" ahead of the 2022/23 season.

Designed by Jason Petrie, the sneakers are inspired by some of the best LeBron shoes throughout the King's iconic career, taking design cues from the likes of the LeBron 16 with the returning Dunkman logo.

The tributes to LeBron aren't just visual either as Nike has integrated some of the most beloved technology from previous iterations to create what looks to be one of the most well-rounded and advanced LeBron sneakers to date.

But how exactly do the new XXs compare to some of the best basketball shoes around? Well, we'll have to see the shoes in action for that information. That being said, here's everything we know about the release of the "Time Machine" XXs so far...

Nike LeBron XX Time Machine Release Date

Nike's official press release confirmed that the "Time Machine" XXs launched on 29 September 2022 in both adult and kids sizing. That means they're available now if you're interested in picking up a pair.

Subsequent colourways are then due to be released throughout the 2022 holiday season, which could include the pink XXs LeBron was recently pictured wearing during his off-season practice.

How the pink colourway will look is pretty self-explanatory, but how exactly will the first "Time Machine" XX colourway appear? Here's what we know about the design...

Nike LeBron XX Time Machine Design

As touched on, the LeBron XXs are inspired by some of the King's previous signature sneakers, but also include several new features to upgrade on what we've seen from Nike in the past.

Design-wise, the "Time Machine" colourway is dressed primarily in a pastel blue knitted material, with pink being the main accenting tone across the palm tree-patterned sole units, interior lining, and heel tabs.

Mint green details can also be found around the eyestays and the Swooshes, while orange dresses the eyestays themselves and the insoles. A final blue hue also makes its way onto the sneakers, with the most notable detail being James' own Dunkman logo on the outsoles.

In terms of technology, the sneakers feature Nike Sphere around the collars to improve breathability, a feature which originally appeared in the Air Zoom Generation, LeBron's first signature sneaker.

Carbon fibre shanks return to the midfoot sections as well to provide a greater energy return and torsional rigidity for explosive movements.

Overall, the design of the LeBron XXs is perfectly summed up by the quote stitched to the inside of the tongues. It reads "Designed and Engineered to the Exact Specifications of the Next Generation." Ultimately, these sneakers are designed for the now, but also future NBA stars.

Nike LeBron XX Time Machine Price

Nike SNKRS currently has the "Time Machine" XXs listed for $200 in adult sizing.

The smaller and most likely cheaper kids' sizes are not currently available despite Nike revealing these sizes will be made available.

If we were to hazard a guess as to how much they'll cost though, then we predict that Big Kids' variations could cost around $160, while a Toddler size might cost $60 based on the LeBron 19's pricing.

These prices aren't confirmed yet though, so make sure you check back in with us to stay up-to-date with the latest details right here.
