As the Air Force 1 celebrates its 40th birthday, leaked images have surfaced of a pair of Anniversary Edition low-tops which have sneaker fans eagerly awaiting a release date announcement from Nike.

Originally designed by Bruce Kilgore, this basketball shoe has evolved into the ultimate lifestyle sneaker, spawning many great colourways over the years, with Nike continuing to make more to this day like the upcoming "Copy Paste" and Berlin-themed releases.

While there are plenty of Air Force 1's to look forward to in 2022, we're focusing solely on the Anniversary Edition release in this article. So, without further delay, let's dive in...

When Is The Nike Air Force 1 Anniversary Edition Release Date?

It is unclear at this stage when these Anniversary Air Force 1's will be released, which is not overly surprising considering all we've seen of them so far is a handful of leaked images.

Having said that, some reports are suggesting that we may see these sneakers arrive in the coming weeks; however, this is yet to be confirmed by the brand.

One thing we're confident in predicting though is that these Air Force's will likely arrive at some point in 2022 given they're themed around the silhouette's 40th anniversary.

Make sure you check back in with us as we'll be keeping this article updated with the latest news as and when it arrives.

Nike Air Force 1 Anniversary Edition Design

Rather than making wholesale changes for this special edition release, Nike has kept several details from the original 1982 design intact like the white leather base layer now more commonly found on the highly popular all-white Air Force 1's.

The white base is then contrasted by hints of burgundy/brown dressing the Swooshes, outsoles, and Nike Air branding on the tongue tabs and heel counters.

You'll also find the words 'Anniversary Edition' scribed in gold cursive under the 'Air Force 1' logos on the tongue tabs.

Perhaps the most interesting design feature of them all though is actually not a part of the sneaker itself.

No, it is the large hangtag attached which features a snippet of the original illustrated print ad, and a complimentary Nike 'Since 1982' toothbrush which appears to be a nod to the type of tools people used to carry to quickly clean their sneakers.

Nike Air Force 1 Anniversary Edition Price

Much like the release date, there's limited information available regarding the price tag attached to these Anniversary Edition sneakers.

Generally speaking, Air Force 1's cost between $100 and $130, a price range these sneakers may fall into; however, given they're a special release, we expect them to cost slightly more than this.

This is purely speculation on our behalf though, so make sure you stay tuned to find out more.

Where To Buy Nike Air Force 1 Anniversary Edition

We believe one of the first places you'll be able to find a listing for these special edition Air Force 1's is at the Nike store under the new releases or the Air Force 1 subsection.

We'd also recommend signing up for the push notifications once these sneakers arrive on the SNKRS page or App so you're completely prepared for their upcoming arrival.
