Ice Breaker events aren't limited to Norway though, they will also feature in Nepal and the frozen East River in New York!
Variety in DIRT 5
DIRT 5 features all kinds of different off-road races, from hard ice to soft mud, from flat planes to mountains and oval tracks.
"Variety is a huge aspect of our approach for DIRT 5, and we wanted to blend in some fresh experiences to the DIRT series alongside fan favourites." says DIRT 5 development director Robert Karp.
"Ice Breaker is one of those new additions and offers a totally different gameplay feel. Players will need to find a flow and tie sweeping corners together to get ahead of the pack."
It all takes place in these stunning wintry environments, with dynamic weather cycles and the potential for blizzards. The lighting underneath the ice makes these events a real spectacle."
DIRT 5 release date
Codemasters has now confirmed the release date of 9 October 2020.
It will be on Xbox One, PS4 and Windows PC (via Steam) as well as next-gen consoles Xbox Series X and PS5.

Players that buy the current-gen version will receive a free upgrade to next-gen.
A Stadia version will be released early 2021. Fully optimised for all platforms, DIRT 5 is a new heart-pounding off-road driving experience set against a sensory backdrop of vibrant visuals, an eclectic soundtrack, and dynamic weather conditions.
