The Last of Us 2 was an absolute hit earlier this year.
The title follows on from The Last of Us, which initially launched for PS4 in 2013.
However, Best Buy may have leaked an exciting announcement for the second gamer in the series.
Let's take a look at the leak, and what we know so far!
Best Buy Leak
The game has been for sale with Best Buy since its release, so nothing is new there.
However, a recent listing seems to include the tag "includes next-gen upgrade".
This hasn't been confirmed by Naughty Dog, but plenty of other games have received a next-gen patch.
We are still waiting for word from Naughty Dog on the issue, as this may have been a big blunder from the Best Buy team!
However, it is also possible that the tag is just a mistake, and there is no next-gen upgrade in the works.
Next Gen Upgrades
A next-gen version of the game could see a host of cool features added to The Last of Us 2.
Firstly, the game could include a 120fps upgrade, making the phenomenal RPG game even smoother.
If not, it is likely that we would see a native 4K, HDR mode at 60fps, leading to an incredible visual experience with the right screen!

Furthermore, a next-gen version of the game would undoubtedly take advantage of faster load times.
This would allow players to go from their home screen to playing faster than ever before.
Similarly, a PS5 version of The Last of Us 2 could include enhanced lighting and shadows thanks to ray-tracing.
This could help even further with the immersion, as the game appears even more lifelike.
