It's getting slightly easier to get a PS5 console, but it still involves somewhat of a fight.
Below, we'll run you through all of the PS5 news for today, April 7, and where you might be able to find consoles.
We'll go over what games are out and what's recently happened in the world of PlayStation.
PS Plus Games Now Live
The PS Plus games for April 2021 are now live and can be downloaded whenever you'd like.
If you didn't see the announcement, the free games for the month are:
- Oddworld Soulstorm (PS5)
- Days Gone (PS4)
- Zombie Army 4: Dead War (PS4)
MLB The Show 21 on Game Pass
Talking of subscription services, it has been announced that MLB The Show 21 will be included in the Xbox Game Pass library from when it launches on April 20.
Since the game is developed by Sony San Diego, that's somewhat of a surprise, but it has been explained that MLB made the decision.
“As part of the goal for this year’s game, MLB decided to bring the franchise to more players and baseball fans,” a PlayStation representative told Inverse.
They continued to say: “This decision provides a unique opportunity to further establish MLB The Show as the premier brand for baseball video games.”
Maybe the game will come to one of PlayStation's services later down the line.
PS5 Console Stock
As for where you can get PS5 consoles today, we'll break down everything we know below:
UK
Those in the know are convinced that three major UK Retailers all have PS5 Console stock ready to drop later today or tomorrow.
Smyths Toys, GAME, and Very are all rumoured to have PS5 Console stock "ready to go" with Smyths expected to drop stock at 16:00 BST.
You'll have to keep checking and we'll have updates throughout today and tomorrow on when Game and Very are likely to drop stock.
USA
As for the USA, today is looking pretty quiet.
The console drop at Gamestop sold out in 45 minutes yesterday, but it sounds like some other retailers will be selling more this week.
According to TechRadar, "we may see a Target PS5 restock on Thursday April 8 and a Walmart PS5 restock on Friday, April 9."

New Releases Today - April 7
Rocket League Season 3 is the only new game or event releasing on PS5 today, on April 7.
If you're a fan of the car/soccer game, you can jump into new content that includes a crossover with Nascar.
It's also worth noting that you can preload the Resident Evil Re:Verse beta today, so that you can jump in when it goes live tomorrow.
