Madden 22 tops the PS5 download charts in August

Today, Sony has released the PlayStation top download charts, and Madden 22 was the biggest selling on both PS5 and PS4.

PlayStation Download Charts - August 2021

That's the case at least for the US and Canada, where Madden 22 tops both charts. In Europe though, the story is a little different.

Madden 22 is the 13th most downloaded PS5 game and isn't in the top 20 for PS4 in that region.

Instead, Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut tops the charts for PS5 and Grand Theft Auto V reigns supreme once more on PS4. We can't believe it's been eight years since that game released now.

Interestingly, "on free-to-play, Splitgate continues its run atop the charts for Europe and US and Canada."

1047 Games announced their recent $100 million funding this week, so that game is only going to go from strength to strength.

You can check out our interview with Splitgate's CEO, Ian Proulx, for more on what the studio has planned for the future.

If you want to check out the full charts, you can do so over on the PlayStation Blog. It also features all of the PSVR top selling games, on top of the charts we've mentioned above.
