PES 2020: The best 3 skills you need to know

PES 2020 has been available for a month now, with the Konami title still picking up licences, such as the Italian Serie B.

Ranging from flair tricks to contextual skills that help you dupe overcommitted defenders, our most effective skills will have you fooling your mates from the offset.

Best standard skill

The Drag Back opens up your player’s body, and should be used when players are diving in for the best outcome.

This skill is particularly effective when used against a
defender on the wing.

Controls

Auto-feint must be switched ON

With your player running from left to right:

1) Flick RS LEFT (the opposite direction that your player is running in)

2) Flick LS UP, RIGHT or DOWN (depending on the direction you wish to go in)

Take full advantage of the gap that will be created between your player and the opposition.

Best contextual skill

A contextual skill is one that can only be completed when a defender is approaching, as you quickly jink past.

If your isolated against the back four, this is perhaps the most efficient, and easiest skill to execute.

Controls

Auto-feint must be switched ON

With your player running from left to right:

1) Wait for defender to commit

2) Release all controls

3) Hold sprint

4) Flick LS in the direction that you wish to burst into

If the skill is completed correctly, your player should dink the ball over the defenders leg and burst into the space.

Best flair skill

The McGeady spin is a variation of the Roulette that is very familiar to PES players.

Named after after now Sunderland man Aiden Mc-Geady, the move can be used to cut inside on the wing, as your opposing full back can't change direction quickly enough.

Controls

Auto-feint must be switched ON

With your player running from left to right:

1) Flick RS RIGHT (the direction that your player is running in)

2) Flick LS UP or DOWN (either, as long as it is 90 degrees away from the player’s direction)

The move is most effective when used on the flanks, taking on a full back.
