The best things in life are free. This is certainly the case on PES 2018 Master League, with some big names available on free agent deals.
You can find these free agents by going to Team Management > Negotiations > Advanced Search and then down at the bottom, change Special Search to No Renewal/Free Agent.
RealSport have a look at the best players available who are without a club on the game.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic left Manchester United in the winter to join LA Galaxy, but with the MLS not on PES 2018, he can be snapped up on a free on Master League. The big Swede is one of the greatest strikers to ever grace the game, scoring over 450 goals and winning 11 league titles across four countries.
Ibrahimovic has a very impressive 90 OPR on PES, which has abilities of 95 kicking power, 95 physical contact and 92 ball control. These will decline rapidly however, with Ibrahimovic now 36 and unlikely to be able to play more than one season for your club.
Makoto Hasebe is captaining the impressive Japanese team at the World Cup, but with no Bundesliga on PES, the Eintracht Frankfurt defensive midfielder is a free agent on the game. The highlight of the 33-year-old’s career was winning the Bundesliga with Wolfsburg in 2009, but he did add an incredible German Cup with Eintracht this season.
Abilities of 83 stamina, 79 ball control and 79 physical contact give Hasebe an 81 OPR. At his age, those will decline quickly however, with his level expected to drop to 75 over the next three seasons.
Jonathan Viera is a useful player, but you feel he has walked away from being a top player by heading to China with Beijing Guoan. The Chinese Super League club are not on PES as they did not qualify for the AFC Champions League, making the once-capped Spanish international Viera a free agent.
Left winger Viera has an 81 OPR on PES, thanks to his abilities of 83 dribbling, 82 attacking prowess and 82 ball control. At the age of 28, he’s at his peak, making him a superb free transfer.
It’s a similar story for Nicolas Gaitan, who plays for Chinese Super League outfit Dalian Yifang. The right winger left Atletico Madrid in February along with Yannick Carrasco, to move to Dalian, with the Wanda Group having a stake in both clubs.
Argentine international Gaitan has abilities of 84 dribbling, 83 explosive power and 82 ball control on PES. Those give the 29-year-old an 80 OPR, but this is likely to drop to 77 over the next three seasons.
With not all Russian clubs on PES 2018, Krasnodar’s Oleg Shatov finds himself a free agent on the game. The left winger is actually on loan from Zenit St. Petersburg, who are on PES, but their loss can be your gain.
The 27-year-old Shatov has a 79 OPR which is set to remain the same for the foreseeable future. 90 speed, 83 dribbling and 82 low pass are his best stats, making him a tricky customer.
Yuya Osako has impressed at the World Cup, netting the winner in Japan’s vital victory over Colombia. The centre forward plays his club football for FC Koln, who aren’t on PES, making him a free agent.
Stats of 79 attacking prowess, 79 kicking power and 79 jump aid Osako’s 78 OPR, which should remain constant for the 27-year-old.
Alejandro Silva plays out in the MLS for Canadian side Montreal Impact, making him a free agent on this year’s PES. The Uruguayan international only moved from Argentinean side Lanus in January, but you can snatch him for free on Master League.
The right back has a 77 OPR, which is likely to decrease slightly to 75 over the next few seasons. His best abilities include 83 explosive power, 80 dribbling and 80 speed making him a very attacking and dangerous full back.
Brazilian defender Mauricio has bizarrely found himself loaned out to Polish outfit Legia Warsaw from Lazio. With no Polish division on PES, he's a free agent on Master League, and a reliable one at that.
The 29-year-old centre back has a 77 OPR, which should fall slightly in the next few years to 75. 86 jump, 83 physical contact and 82 ball winning make him a dominating figure at the back.
Someone who was touted as being the next big thing, things have fallen a little flat for Yoshinori Muto. After impressing with FC Tokyo in his homeland, the Japanese international was in talks with Chelsea, but ended up moving to Mainz in 2015. 23 goals in 70 games isn’t bad, but you sense a move back to the Far East beckons for the 25-year-old.
Striker Muto has a 77 OPR which should peak at 78. His best abilities include 83 explosive power, 82 speed and 79 jump.
He may be 36, but Rod Fanni can still do a job for your side. The centre back plays for Montreal Impact in real life, having previously had successful spells at Rennes and Marseille.
Despite his 75 OPR falling dramatically, Fanni could be a useful signing if you need cover at the back or if you are in search of promotion to the top flight. The former French international has abilities of 87 physical contact, 84 jump and 82 speed.
