eFootball: Developers explain new features with just one week until release

The debut of eFootball is just one week away, so make sure you know everything new that is coming to the game.

The developers have run through some of the exciting new features, as well as answered some FAQs ahead of launch.

Master League on mobile

One of Konami’s mainstays will make its first-ever appearance on mobile this season!

Master League will be a part of eFootball this season (although likely to be available as a paid DLC) which will please a lot of PES fans.

Even better news is that the classic game mode will be available on your mobile, meaning you can manage your team whenever and wherever you are.

While Master League won’t be available straight from the off, expect it to arrive shortly after the official release date.

Streamlined setup

Konami really is catering to the growing Esports market by introducing new ‘Streamer’ and ‘Esports’ modes to eFootball.

Streamer Mode will automatically disable any licensed music in the game, making it easier for streamers to produce content without the hassle of broadcasting regulations.

Esports Mode will do a similar thing but will also disable commentary too to allow Esports commentators to take over.

This new feature is pretty niche, but it is sure to make life easier for a lot of players.

Cross-Platform graphics

The introduction of cross-platform play is a fantastic addition to the game, and one we will surely see rolled out across all games in the years to come.

However, there is always the concern that graphics and gameplay could take a hit when paired with a console less powerful than your own.

Konami has stated that the graphics will not be downgraded, regardless of your opponent’s platform as each console will maximise its graphics capabilities.

Alongside this promise, there are multiple matchmaking filters to make sure you are happy with who you are matched up against.

Hard copy

For now, eFootball will remain a digital-only product, meaning you won’t be able to buy a physical copy of the game.

This is the way gaming is heading, but for collectors, this may be a bit of a disappointment.

Konami did state that they will monitor the situation, so there is the potential for physical copies of the game in the future.

Power gauge

One of the new features arriving in eFootball is the Power Kicks which add a new dimension to shooting and passing.

The special power kicks (think knuckleball) are activated by holding R2/RT and then choosing your input but be warned, you will need time and space to pull this off.

You will know when you have successfully pulled off a ‘power kick’ too by checking the power gauge.

A normal pass/shot/cross will be green on the power gauge, however, a power kick will turn the gauge blue. Got it? Good.
