A new patch for Overwatch recently released, adding some new features for the PachiMarchi event and addressing some bugs, but it features some interesting additional details.

Overwatch in 120hz on Xbox

As reported by Engadget, the patch allows Overwatch players on Xbox consoles to play in up to 120hz, which is a first for console versions of Blizzard's game.

Of course, you're going to need a monitor or TV that supports the features, but it's a great option for anyone who does have such a thing.

To play in 120hz, you'll have to select the right option from the new Preferred Mode feature.

If you select 'Framerate,' Overwatch will run at a maximum of 120hz, with 'Resolution' letting you play in 4k instead.

Playing in 'Framerate' mode will have some negative effects on other aspects of Overwatch's visuals though, as you'd expect.

In the mode, you'll be playing at an absolute max of 1440p on Series X and 1080p on Series S. For some, that'll be the preferred way to play, particularly if you're more competitive in the game's ranked mode.

For now, the update has only come to Xbox consoles. There is no news on whether it will be coming to Sony's console at a later date.

For now, we'll keep looking forward to the 2021 Archives event, which hopefully isn't too far away.
