We're less than two weeks away from an Overwatch 2 beta release, which means content such as the new Push mode, four new maps, hero reworks, and the new ping system will be available for players to test.
Alongside these is the franchise's newest hero, Sojourn, who will be a unique take on the DPS role as she brings on a number of new features never before seen on a hero.
Here's everything we know about the commander of the Canadian special forces, Sojourn, including her release date, abilities, skins, and more.
The official release date of Sojourn is currently unknown due to Blizzard Entertainment not yet confirming Overwatch 2's official release date.
However, players looking to get their hands on Overwatch's newest hero can do so by participating in the upcoming Overwatch 2 beta which begins on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, and runs for a limited amount of time!
Players looking to sign up for the Overwatch 2 beta can follow our sign-up guide here.
The 33rd hero, Sojourn is a breath of fresh air for the DPS role. She is a mid-range damage dealer that has incredible mobility and artillery.
Read over what we know far about Sojourn's abilities below.
Sojourn's weapon is the first of its kind for the game, a Railgun. Like Widowmaker, it has a primary fire and a secondary fire.
The primary fires rapid projectiles that generate energy upon hitting enemies. That energy is then used to power up her secondary, the Railgun itself. It can be viewed as a fairly simple weapon, just point and click and strong amounts of damage come through. However. in the hands of the right player, it can be the deadliest weapon in the game.
Acting as the hero's mobility ability, Sojourn's power slide brings on a new type of mobility to the game while also combining it with an already existing one.
Her rocket-powered slide has the hero slide across the ground, allowing her to lower her profile and can also be cancelled into a high jump. This allows Sojourn to reposition herself in various ways. It's worth nothing that Sojourn can shoot while sliding.
Disruptor shot is an AOE ability that snares and damages enemies. It can be used to increase the effectiveness of her Railgun as she can snare the opposition leading to easier shots.
Lastly, her Ultimate ability, Overlock, automatically charges the Railgun's energy for a short period of time and allows the weapon's shots to pierce multiple enemies.
It's basically a power-up that lets her skip having to charge up her Railgun's secondary fire, allowing her to jump into battle guns blazing.
As of right now, there is little to no information on Sojourn's skins. However, we might learn more about what the Canadian hero might have for alternate looks once the Overwatch 2 beta begins.
