Release date

The game was supposed to arrive back in 2021. However, events within Blizzard made it impossible for the game to be released in that time frame... namely Covid-19.

Overwatch 2 will launch on October 4 2022 on the Nintendo Switch, PS4/PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows PC.

The game will be free-to-play. However, this is only for the PvP element of the game.

At release, this will also be early access, meaning some changes may come at a later stage.

2023 is when PvE will join the game. However, a date for this has not yet officially been revealed.

Are there any more Beta tests?

Blizzard announced that after two beta tests, there will be no further tests for keen players.

This happened because the Blizzard team received enough information from the current beta tests to keep them busy in the lead-up to release.

This means that no new faces will be seen in the test phase.

However, it also means that the game is getting ready for release, which is equally as exciting.

Overwatch 2 will see huge changes to characters, new maps, and new gameplay mechanics. Fans are excited for this upgraded version of Overwatch.
