Overwatch 2 Mei - Hero Removed Due to Game Changing Bug


Overwatch 2 recently had both Bastion and Torbjörn removed from the game for a couple of weeks.

This was due to some bugs specific to the heroes which created unfair advantages.

Overwatch 2 recent release had a rocky start, and that tradition is continuing with multiple heroes being removed.

Mei has been removed from the game after a bug caused some pretty strong glitches to happen.

So, let's take a look at the bug that affected players and when we should expect Mei to return to Overwatch 2.

Why was Mei removed from Overwatch 2?

The classic hero, Mei has been removed from the game after a game-changing bug was found within her kit.

Her ice wall ability let Mei force her way outside of the map boundaries.

This was also applicable to her allies who could still shoot but not be killed.

Mei essentially made everyone become unkillable killing machines.

Additionally, it made it so Mei could push players around with it, which made for some pretty interesting plays.

Mei's glitch in-game

The glitch has been posted to YouTube, even with a guide on how to use the glitch.

Glitches are common when a game is updated.

However, Blizzard has missed the ball quite a few times with the potential for more heroes to also be temporarily disabled.

When will Mei return?

Blizzard quickly removed the hero from the game due to this bug and has now revealed that she won't return for two weeks.

So, November 15 2022 is when Mei will once again be playable in the game without her glitch.

This is also the same date that the next patch for the game is available.
