Overwatch 2 Beta COUNTDOWN: Start Time, How to Opt in, Streamer Drops

On April 18 Blizzard Entertainment officially revealed that beta tests for Overwatch 2 will be taking place across 2022.

Players will be able to test the game's new features as well as new additions to its roster, including the new hero Sojourn, several hero reworks, the new game mode, Push, four new maps, and more.

UPDATED - A few hours left until drops become available

We're less than three hours away from Overwatch partnered Twitch streamers being able to give Twitch Drops.

This means that once the clock hits 1 pm ET, players will be able to watch any of the selected to get access to the Overwatch 2 Beta.

Full Overwatch partnered Twitch streamers list

Blizzard has partnered with over 200 Twitch streamers to give players a chance to join the Overwatch 2 Beta via Twitch drops.

All players need to do is watch one of the many streamers for an accumulative four hours on April 27, from 1 pm ET to 9 pm ET.

Overwatch 2 Beta Start Time

There will be several beta tests for Overwatch 2 across 2022, this first one will be solely focused on the game's PvP and starts on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, and ends on Tuesday, May 17, 2022.

It begins on Tuesday, April 26 at 2 pm EST, however, there isn't any information on what it'll end on May 17.

How to Opt in to Overwatch 2 Beta

If players want to take part in the Overwatch 2 beta, they'll need to request access. Once signed up, they'll have to wait to see if they got invited to the PC-only beta.

As always, signing up doesn't guarantee an invite to the Overwatch 2 Beta as it's solely based on luck. This means that not everyone will be granted access.

Players can sign up via the Overwatch website, here's how to do it.

  1. Visit the official beta opt-in page.
  2. Sign in with your Battle.net account.
  3. That's it! Time to wait if you were one of the lucky few.

Overwatch 2 Beta Streamer Drops

Apart from doing it the old-fashioned way, players can all gain access to the Overwatch 2 via Twitch drops.

Over 200 Overwatch partnered Twitch streamers will have Beta Twitch Drops enabled for a short amount of time. All players need to do is watch a cumulative four hours of streams and they'll have guaranteed access to the Overwatch 2 Beta.
