Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Have Rideable Legendaries.
Koraidon and Miraidon are the legendaries for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet respectively and both will join you on your journey as companions, using their ability to change forms to help players traverse the Paldea region more easily.
For those that have played Pokemon Legends Arceus, this is already something familiar to the Pokemon series, with those games using a selection of Pokemon to help you travel the different areas in the game.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet seem to be taking this idea to the next level, however, with these legendary Pokemon joining you from the beginning and serving as your mount as you quest through the region, using their different forms to help you get to where you need to be. You can even use these mounts while playing with friends in multiplayer.
There are three forms for both Koraidon and Miraidon. Here is a breakdown of each of them and what it is they can do.
Sprinting Build / Drive Mode
The first and most basic of the modes you will come across is the Sprinting Building / Drive Mode. This mode is for the trainer who wants to pick up the pace when crossing the Paldea region. This is similar to the Wyrdeer mount found in Legends Arceus. This mode will seemingly be able to scale cliffs also.
Swimming Build / Aquatic Mode
The second mode is the surf-replacement for these games, taking on the same role as Basculegion in Legends Arceus. While in this mode, you'll be able to traverse the many rivers, lakes and vibrant oceans of Paldea to approach the Pokemon that live there.
Gliding Build / Glide Mode
Jump from mountains, towering cliffs and tall buildings to glide towards wherever you want to go. The fly replacement in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Glide mode will be the equivalent of the Braviary glider found in Pokemon Legends Arceus.
