Kirby and the Forgotten Land is out now and we're incredibly excited to set off on the latest Kirby adventure.
Kirby and the Forgotten Land Release Time and Date
Kirby and the Forgotten Land finally launches this Friday, March 25th. This comes out just a few months after the official announcement last September. This trailer showed off Kirby in a new post-apocalypse, left to figure out the mystery at its core.
Nintendo are infamously a little mediocre when it comes to their launch times. Though the store officially says its resets around 14:00 GMT / 15:00 CET, it sometimes comes out a little before that and midnight releases aren't entirely uncommon. While there's a potential it could come out at midnight, you are better off not planning around that.
What is Kirby and the Forgotten Land?
Kirby and the Forgotten Land is the first main platform Kirby game in over four years. It takes a new spin on the formula in a brand new setting and gives him the ability to suck up and take the ability of objects this time. This is what led to the infamous Kirby Car video from February. This is part of what Hal calls Mouthful Mode.
This adds a new layer to puzzles in the game, allowing you to take new powers and adventure through the new land.
What does this mean for the future of Kirby?
It depends on how successful this game is on launch but the new aesthetic could do quite a lot for the game. It could incentivise Hal to continue experimenting with new backgrounds and sending Kirby to entirely new areas.
We saw a Kirby fighting game in 2020 and this being successful may mean that Kirby stays platforming for a while longer. We will have to wait until the launch to really find out how well this all works.
