Is NHL 22 on Xbox Game Pass?

NHL 22 has finally arrived, and the latest installment continues to carry the hockey gaming franchise forward.

With so many titles landing on Xbox Game Pass, we've got all the details on whether NHL 22 is already among them.

Is NHL 22 on Xbox Game Pass?

The answer to the burning question: no. NHL 22 is not currently available with Xbox Game Pass.

However, you can try the game out if you have Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which includes an EA Play subscription and access to their games catalogue.

The NHL 22 Trial is available with EA Play, and new players will be able to get 10 hours of playtime in NHL 22 before having to purchase the full game.

When the time limit on your 10-hour trial is up, you'll then have to decide between waiting or making the leap of purchasing the Standard or X-Factor Edition of NHL 22.

If you find yourself enjoying HUT 22 when playing, the X-Factor Edition may be worth it just for the additional rewards that it'll come with.

For those that are patient, it's likely the title will become available, but there is still a question of when that might happen.

When will NHL 22 be on Xbox Game Pass?

It'll likely be some time until we get official word from EA Sports about their plans to put NHL 22 on Xbox Game Pass, but there are other indications of when it could happen.

While MLB The Show 21 tested out a Day One strategy with Xbox Game Pass, EA Sports has so far resisted that possibility and instead leaned on their established launch cycle.

That included the 10-hour EA Play Trial for all of this year's games (NHL 22, FIFA 22, and Madden 22), and will likely extend to their eventual arrival on Xbox Game Pass.

LOOKING BACK: Madden 21 landed on EA Play six months after launch

However, it's important to note that they won't necessarily land on the regular Game Pass subscription, but are most likely going to be linked to EA Play which requires Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

With last year's releases of NHL 21, FIFA 21, and Madden 21, all three of them became available on EA Play approximately six months after launch.

If that trend continues with NHL 22, it means the title is likely to land in the EA Play library during the middle of April 2022.
