Uruguay defeated Wales in the final of the China Cup, with Óscar Tabárez’s side continuing their World Cup preparations with a second win in China.
They defeated the Czech Republic in the first game, while Wales saw off the hosts with ease in the other semi-final.
Ryan Giggs was able to use the tournament to test systems and players for the long and short term, ahead of the Nations League later this year, and then 2020 European Championship qualifying further down the line.
The game ebbed and flowed with both sides creating chances but Uruguay had the better of them, creating numerous openings behind the Welsh back line which was a touch too high considering the personnel within it.
Fernando Muslera was good for the South American side when called upon, keeping out efforts from Sam Vokes and Andy King.
