WWE Backlash 2018: Full match card, where and when to watch

WWE is going back to having every pay-per-view be co-branded, and it begins this Sunday with Backlash. Much of the show is still continued fallout from WrestleMania 34, but it's filled with quality matches and five huge championship contests. Here's all the info you need to get ready for Sunday. 

How to watch Backlash

When: The event will take place on Sunday, May 6th. It will start at 8 PM Eastern Time, 5 PM Pacific Time, and 1 AM British Time (technically on Monday, May 7th). In India and Australia, it will technically start on Monday, May 7th. It will start at 5:30 AM India Standard Time and 11 AM Australian Eastern Daylight Time. The Kickoff Show will start one hour prior to the main start time, so 7 PM Eastern Time, etc. The main show is scheduled to last approximately three hours and may be followed by a fallout show on the WWE Network.

Where: As always, Backlash is available on the WWE Network which can be viewed through most media devices. The WWE Network is only $10 a month and new subscribers can sign up for a free trial that will allow you to enjoy Backlash. Championship matches

WWE Championship No Disqualification Match: AJ Styles (c) vs Shinsuke Nakamura

While on paper this might just look like a slightly altered rematch from WrestleMania 34, a lot has changed since that night. After coming up short against Styles, Shinsuke Nakamura shocked the world with a sudden low blow to the champion right after the match. Since then, tensions have risen and we've seen this rivalry become more and more personal as Nakamura continues to ambush Styles. With their match at Greatest Royal Rumble ending in such anticlimactic fashion, here we will be guaranteed a clear winner thanks to the No Disqualification stipulation. This may turn into a straight up fight, or a low blow contest, but either way it'll be something you won't want to miss. 

Intercontinental Championship Match: Seth Rollins (c) vs The Miz

The Miz went into WrestleMania 34 as the Intercontinental Champion, but he's had a rough time since then. It was Rollins who came out on top that night, and he's proven himself more than once since becoming champion. Most recently, Rollins snatched his title from the jaws of defeat at Greatest Royal Rumble, but he'll be one on one with The Miz this time. That is, unless The Miztourage decides to help their old leader with a parting gift against Rollins. 

United States Championship Match: Jeff Hardy (c) vs Randy Orton

While Randy Orton did have to earn this shot at the recently crowned US Champion Jeff Hardy, it remains a bit of a rematch as Orton lost the title at WrestleMania 34. He'll now get the chance to reclaim what Jinder Mahal took, but to do so he'll have to face off against Jeff Hardy for the first time in several years. Which veteran will leave Backlash and head into SmackDown Live's new era as the United States Champion? 

Raw Women’s Championship Match: Nia Jax (c) vs Alexa Bliss

In the only straight-up rematch from WrestleMania 34, Nia Jax will defend her Raw Women's Championship against the former champion Alexa Bliss. Since losing the title at WrestleMania, Bliss has been providing Raw with her "Moments of Bliss" and accusing Jax of bullying her. Trash talk is one thing, but Bliss will have to put up or shut up when she faces Jax and tries to take back her title this Sunday. 

SmackDown Women’s Championship Match: Carmella (c) vs Charlotte Flair

The recently crowned SmackDown Women's Champion, and former Miss Money in the Bank, is on the road to becoming the new "Ultimate Opportunist." She timed things perfectly when she cashed in and has utilized The IIconics to give her an upper hand on Charlotte in recent weeks. Will Peyton and Billie be there again to play a role, or can Carmella escape this one on one contest as champion all by herself? 

Grudge matches

Roman Reigns vs Samoa Joe

It's been a rough month for Roman Reigns. He tried to topple The Beast at WrestleMania 34, but things didn't exactly go as planned. Instead of leaving as Universal Champion, Roman was left in a pool of his own blood. He tried again at Greatest Royal Rumble, but a controversial decision has left him still unable to defeat Lesnar. Now Samoa Joe is looking to pick up the scraps and put Roman down once and for all. With these men on different brands moving forward, it could be the last time they square off for a while. Who will get the momentum moving forward? 

Daniel Bryan vs Big Cass

Despite amazing performances at WrestleMania 34 and at Greatest Royal Rumble, Daniel Bryan has been plagued by the recent return of Big Cass. After several attacks on SmackDown Live and Cass eliminating Bryan at Greatest Royal Rumble, the leader of the Yes Movement will look for revenge this Sunday, but can Cass prove himself the true superstar at Backlash? 

Braun Strowman & Bobby Lashley vs Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn

After a raucous and electric reception in their home of Montreal on Raw, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn seemed to be having a great week. Unfortunately, a six-man tag team match against Lashley, Strowman, and Roman Reigns put a damper on things. Now they'll be facing just Lashley and Strowman this Sunday. While their opponents are a fairly new team, it could be simply too much power for Owens and Zayn to come out victorious.
