Despite a meandering buildup and a weak go-home show, Hell in a Cell comes to us this weekend with several must-see matches. Two huge Hell in a Cell matches highlight the night, and several other gems litter this event.
How to watch Hell in a Cell
When: The event will take place on Sunday, September 24th. It will start at 8 PM Eastern Time, 5 PM Pacific Time, and 1 AM British Time (technically on Monday, September 25th). In India and Australia, it will technically start on Monday, September 25th. It will start at 5 AM India Standard Time and 10 AM Australian Eastern Standard Time. The Kickoff Show will start one hour prior to the main start time, so 7 PM Eastern Time, etc. The main show is scheduled to last approximately three hours and may be followed by an edition of Raw Talk on the WWE Network.
Where: As always, Hell in a Cell is available on the WWE Network which can be viewed through most media devices. Championship Matches
WWE Championship Match: Jinder Mahal (c) vs Shinsuke Nakamura
After these two squared off at SummerSlam, WWE Champion Jinder Mahal escaped with some assistance from The Singh Brothers. After weeks of verbal barbs by Mahal, a much-deserved rematch will take place at Hell in a Cell. Both competitors have some momentum going in, but it will largely hinge on the potential involvement of The Singh Brothers once again.
SmackDown Women's Championship Match: Natalya (c) vs Charlotte Flair
After taking time off to help her father recover, Charlotte Flair made her triumphant return to SmackDown Live recently and earned herself a shot at the current SmackDown Women's Champion. There are years of history between the Hart and Flair families, and this will likely be another instant classic between wrestling royalty.
SmackDown Tag Team Championship Hell in a Cell Match: The New Day (c) vs The Usos
There seems to be no more evenly matched rivalry in WWE today than the one between The New Day and The Usos. Both teams have had the upper hand at different times, but this is the true final showdown. Arguably the two teams most representative of WWE's tag team division in the last five years will clash inside Hell in a Cell, and it's not something you want to miss.
United States Championship Match: AJ Styles (c) vs Baron Corbin
Despite a string of losses and frustrating moments, The Lone Wolf has found his way into a championship opportunity at Hell in a Cell. After failing to win the WWE Championship, losing to John Cena, and even losing to Tye Dillinger this week, Corbin will be desperately seeking redemption. Meanwhile, AJ Styles has continued to be a fighting champion on SmackDown Live and looks to prove himself phenomenal once more.
Grudge Matches
Hell in a Cell Falls Count Anywhere Match: Shane McMahon vs Kevin Owens
There's no doubt what the most highly anticipated match of the night is. This clash has been weeks, if not months, in the making. Tensions between Shane McMahon and Kevin Owens go back to before SummerSlam, and a confrontation between Owens and Mr. McMahon recently put things on a new level. Now they'll square off in the biggest pure grudge match in recent memory, and the addition of a Falls Count Anywhere stipulation guarantees maximum chaos.
Bobby Roode vs Dolph Ziggler
After declaring himself the greatest in-ring performer of all time, Dolph Ziggler has spent weeks bashing the use of elaborate entrances. That has eventually brought us to this moment where Ziggler will go up against the man with the most glorious entrance on SmackDown Live, former NXT Champion Bobby Roode.
Randy Orton vs Rusev
After Rusev picked up a sudden lightning-quick victory over Randy Orton, he has spent the last few weeks gloating about it at a whole new level. These two will square off once again at Hell in a Cell, but it will be interesting to see if Rusev's newfound friend Aiden English will play a role once again.
Chad Gable & Shelton Benjamin vs The Hype Bros (Kickoff Match)
It was announced this week that the recently formed team of Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin will be featured on the Hell in a Cell Kickoff Show. They'll go up against The Hype Bros, who have struggled and had several communication issues in recent weeks. If Gable and Benjamin are dominant, it could spell the end of The Hype Bros.
