Wrestling Rumour Roundup: Could Stone Cold be the new General Manager of Raw?

Check out the latest news and rumours around the wrestling world compiled by RealSport to save you the time of hunting them down yourself!

It seems likely that we will see NXT star Bayley Debut on the main roster sometime soon. With Dana Brooke and Charlotte facing Sasha Banks and a partner of her choosing, Bayley seems to be a possibility as a partner to Sasha and make her main roster Debut. Bayley has been in NXT for much longer than anybody assumed she would be so her run is bound to end soon. If Bayley’s NXT run is soon to end then the best place would be NXT Takeover: Brooklyn II. This would be the perfect opportunity for Bayley to end her NXT run and Debut on the main roster.

Nia Jax could be making her main roster debut as well as Bayley due to the main roster draft. Nia Jax has got to be one of the most unique wrestlers in the WWE women’s division and that’s not just because of her size. Her ability to dominate matches makes her unique because she does it in a way no other woman in the WWE could. Nia Jax has had a very good run in NXT so far although she hasn’t been able to win big, crucial matches. Her dominance has been shown throughout NXT with her only two losses being against Bayley and Asuka. It doesn’t look like Nia Jax will be involved with NXT long enough for her to regain momentum so it is expected that she will make her main roster debut during the WWE draft event.

WWE have been planning Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins for the WWE championship at “Summerslam.” On Monday Night Raw, Seth Rollins goes up against Dean Ambrose for the WWE championship just one day before the draft and six days before “Battleground.”  This match will determine who heads into “Battleground” as the WWE champion but who will come out on top is the real question here. it is rumoured that WWE has an original plan of Dean Ambrose losing the title on Raw or at the Pay-Per-View. If this rumour is true, will Rollins that walks out as champion and retain or will Reigns defeat Rollins for the championship and walk out as new champion? The truth it that no matter who wins the title from Ambrose, Reigns vs. Rollins II is expected to be the WWE championship match at “Summerslam.”

“Stone Cold” Steve Austin could become the general manager of Monday Night Raw. On this week’s edition of Monday Night Raw, Vince McMahon made the decision to make Shane McMahon the commissioner of SmackDown live and while Stephanie McMahon is in charge of Raw. There has also been a revelation that these two will also be choosing a general manager for their respective brands. Shane’s choice has been confirmed as Daniel Bryan according to a tweet he posted on Tuesday.  There has been a lot of speculation surrounding who Stephanie will choose to be general manager of Monday Night Raw. It is rumoured that WWE hall of famers Edge, Mick Foley and Sting are possibilities, alongside “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, and are the four people who are top choice to be Raw general manager. Out of these four, Only two are top choices to be general manager. These two choices are Mick Foley and Steve Austin as they have the most experience. If the WWE are considering these two men to be choices, it would be interesting for everybody to see as Stephanie is meant to be heel. It would also be interesting to see as they would be working with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon on a weekly basis. Either “Stone Cold” Steve Austin or Mick Foley could do this job but the WWE could head anywhere with this. We’ll just have to wait until the next episode of Monday Night Raw to see what happens.
