Three Things to Expect from NXT (Spoiler-Free Preview 27/7/16)

With a New Era underway in WWE, what does the future hold for NXT? Here are a few things to expect tonight.

With so many NXT mainstays getting called up to the main roster in the last week, there are plenty of questions that need to be answered on tonight’s episode of NXT. Before you watch tonight, here are three things to expect.

1. TM-61 try to make a statement

With the departure of American Alpha, there is a definite void in NXT’s Tag Team division. That leaves ample opportunity for other teams to step up to the plate and begin to stake their claim at the NXT Tag Team Championships. One of those teams is TM-61, formerly TMDK, which are scheduled to put their Australian flavor of tag team dominance on display tonight.

2. Bayley sets her sights on Asuka

While the WWE Universe definitely enjoyed Bayley’s moment in the spotlight at Battleground, the fact is that she’s still a mainstay in NXT. With the drafting of Nia Jax to Raw, it seems to leave only one possible conclusion. We may finally get the announcement of the rematch between Bayley and Nia Jax tonight, and the build to NXT TakeOver: Back To Brooklyn might begin to heat up.

3. Is Shinsuke Nakamura the new #1 Contender?

Before we got to see the epic encounter between Nakamura and the man that has now become the #1 Contender to the WWE Universal Championship, Finn Balor, Nakamura specifically said that “before I become champion, I must beat icon.” Well, Nakamura beat the icon. Will Nakamura put his focus on Samoa Joe now, and how will Joe respond to this potential challenger?

Check out all that and more on NXT tonight, and we’ll have full results and analysis after the show!
