Three independent wrestling stars that would shine in the WWE

As followers of independent wrestling, after watching a 5 star match up or a great promo that gets us excited for an event – we always ask ourselves: “Why aren’t they signed to WWE?” – some independent wrestlers just aren’t cut out for the big leagues yet – not because their wrestling abilities not being up to scratch – but perhaps maybe there are just too many of a certain type of wrestler on the WWE roster already, or we have already seen an independent wrestler similar to the ones in question go to WWE and fall flat. But nonetheless, there are undoubtedly stars on the circuits that will no doubt do well, given the chance they got to sign for the WWE. Here are my three independent stars that I believe would not only fit well into the WWE roster, but would thrive in it. Image Starting us off is Jay Lethal. The once TNA star seems to have all the attributes to be a fitting heel champion – and with a distinct lack of wrestlers on the main roster with a manager, Jay Lethal and Truth Martini would make a great change. He has shown us on Ring of Honor his in-ring ability as well as promo cutting skills. And paired with Truth Martini, forming the “House of Truth”, Jay made a great RoH world champion and TV champion – simultaneously. I feel that he would fill the currently vacant spot of the Authorities “Golden Boy”, left open by an injured Seth Rollins. Many may think that due to his age (31), he may be too old for the WWE, especially as they seem to be hiring younger talents – although, he is the same age as Baron Corbin, and much younger than AJ Styles. Image Next, someone who I believe has all the physical attributes that we all know Vince stereotypically likes – “Unbreakable” Michael Elgin. Currently signed with NJPW, the heavyweight is also known for making a lot of appearances on Ring of Honor, where he has even been the ROH World Champion. Hailing from Ontario, Canada – Michael Elgin has also worked for PWG with tag team partner Brian Cage, where they won the title. So for the age of 29, Big Mike has already successfully been around the circuits a few times! The next logical move would be to the big leagues. His in-ring work is showcased and documented well throughout his career, earning a 5* rating for his match against Davey Richards for the ROH World Championship. He has also quickly gained popularity amongst the Japanese crowds, becoming a baby-face after the 2015 G1 Climax tournament. Another baby-face would make a welcome addition to the WWE, and with the potential dismissal of Ryback after he openly stated he was unhappy with how the company has treated him, Michael Elgin could easily take his spot. Image Lastly, arguably one of the strongest (no pun intended) heels with the most heat on the independent circuit – Roderick Strong. Roddy has enjoyed a successful independent career all over the world – having great matches with most of the new signings of the WWE Roster – Gallows and Anderson, AJ Styles, Bryan Danielson, Austin Aries and Shinsuke Nakamura. He would feel at home amongst these stars. With great technical in-ring ability and cocky promo cutting skills, he would make a great addition to the WWE heels that are currently on the roster – but with the ability to easily turn
