Smackdown Live didn’t do as good of a job with their go-home show for Summerslam this week, but that said, it was still a decent show.
NUMBER 46: BARON CORBIN (-39)
After a quick Wikipedia search, there are 46 members of the Smackdown Live team who could feasibly get in the ring for a match at any moment. After this week, Baron Corbin is ranked dead last of them. If you manage to screw up a cash in on someone who has just eaten a Super-AA, you deserve this position.
NUMBER 10: BREEZANGO (+1)
Week after week, after week, after week, Breezango is one of the bright spots of Smackdown Live programming and they deserve the props whenever they can get them.
NUMBER 9: RUSEV (+2)
Rusev looked dominant against Chad Gable this week although getting hit with an ‘RKO OUTTA NOWHERE” brought him back to reality rather quickly.
NUMBER 8: CARMELLA (+1)
Carmella has been great after winning Money In The Bank, it is as if she has been given a briefcase full of confidence. At this point, I’m behind her winning the Championship at Summerslam.
NUMBER 7: NAOMI (+1)
Naomi is still holding the Championship but I’m feeling no heat between her and Natalya, let’s just hope their actions do enough speaking for them on Sunday.
NUMBER 6: JOHN CENA (=)
Interesting stat for you, every single failed Money In The Bank cash in has involved Cena in some way. Cena managed to get a massive one up on his opponent for Summerslam this week.
NUMBER 5: AJ STYLES (=)
AJ Styles is still the champ that runs the camp and I’m really hoping he can finally have the incredible match with Kevin Owens that everyone knows they can have.
NUMBER 4: THE USOS (=)
My number one anticipated match for the blue brand at Summerslam is The Usos against The New Day. With a victory over New Day this week The Usos are looking great!
NUMBER 3: THE NEW DAY (-1)
I like this idea of The New Day having different line ups for different matches. It shows the crowd that they could get many different kinds of matches on any given night is an awesome concept.
NUMBER 2: SHINSUKE NAKAMURA (-1)
Shinsuke’s odds of holding the WWE Championship were only raised with the chances of being cashed in on removed, things are looking good for Shinsuke!
NUMBER 1: JINDER MAHAL (+2)
Jinder Mahal managed to withstand Cena’s best move and still get a seven-second victory over Baron Corbin afterward. That’s some strong booking there.
