RealSport WWE Writers RoadBlock Predictions and Analysis

WWE present their final pay-per-view event before what is set to be an incredible week of action surrounding WrestleMania next month. RoadBlock is presented live from Toronto and boasts Triple H’s first defense of his WWE World Heavyweight Championship as he takes on The Lunatic Dean Ambrose. It is also the first time that the NXT Tag Team Championships have been defended on a WWE Network show as The Revival take on Enzo and Cass. The RealSport WWE writers have decided to share their predictions ahead of the event, these include Toby Durant, Tom Stokes and Phillipa Hopwood.

The Revival vs Enzo Amore and Colin Cassidy – NXT Tag Team Championships

Phillipa, Toby, Tom – The Revival – Thoughts By Toby

These two have been circling each other for months now. It all started in late October when Dash Wilder & Scott Dawson attacked Enzo and Big Cass before the latter’s match. They isolated Big Cass and worked over his knee, injuring it and putting him on the shelf. A few weeks later The Revival won the NXT tag team championship and have been feuding with Enzo and Big Cass ever since. In recent weeks the rivalry has boiled over to outside the ring, with The Revival jumped Enzo on his way into the Performance Center 2 weeks ago. The two teams met at NXT Takeover: London before Christmas, with The Revival coming out on top by the skin of their teeth. If that match is anything to go by then round 2 on Saturday will be a barnburner. Enzo and Cass are the most popular, and longest-running, tag team in NXT history. Enzo Amore is a loud-mouth, hard working jersey boy who is the best talker in NXT this side of Samoa Joe. Big Cass is, as his name suggests, BIG. At 7 foot tall he towers above Enzo but they’re dynamic together is fantastic, Cass is the powerhouse and Enzo is the power mouth. As for The Revival… Well, Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder are very much from the same mould. They are a pair of stout, angry men who specialise in isolating an opponent and picking them apart. The obvious strategy for the defending champions will be to keep Enzo in the ring for as long as possible and wear him down. So who comes out on top? Well, my heart screams for Enzo and Cass. They have never held NXT gold and their win would blow the roof off the building but The Revival are the superior wrestlers, so can the heart and desire of Enzo & Big Cass overcome that talent gap? I don’t think so, give me The Revival to retain in a great match.

Charlotte vs Natalya – Divas Championship

Phillipa, Tom, Toby – Charlotte – Thoughts by Tom

Charlotte / Natalya will be a close match if anyone has seen their match from NXT Takeover in 2014 for the NXT Women’s championship you will know what to expect. The match will a classic Face/Heel back and forth with Charlotte pulling some of her Fathers classic dirty moves, speaking of Ric Flair you can rest assured “the Dirtiest Player in the Game” will have some input into this match before Charlotte taps Natalya with the Figure 8.

The New Day vs Sheamus and Barrett – WWE Tag Team Championships

Phillipa, Toby, Tom – The New Day – Thoughts by Tom

The tag title match will be interesting as after months of hottest Heel run in recent memory the New Day are likely to be the Baby face fan favorites in this match, the League of Nations will isolate Kofi for much of the match leading to the eventual hot tag from Big E for the big come back, Expect some outside shenanigans from Xavier Woods and whoever The League have at ringside (either Del Rio or Russev) the match will finish with Big E hitting the big ending with the New Day retaining.

Bray Wyatt w/The Wyatt Family vs Brock Lesnar w/Paul Heyman

Phillipa, Toby, Tom – Brock Lesnar – Thoughts by Tom

This is the match they have all been waiting for and most have said should be held at Wrestlemania, Lesnar will dominate most of the early going with multiple German Suplex’s, Wyatt will make a come back following some ringside assistance from the rest of the Wyatt family, Brock will win by DQ

Triple H vs Dean Ambrose – WWE World Heavyweight Championship

Tom, Toby – Triple H, Phillipa – Dean Ambrose – Thoughts by Phillipa

Where do I start with this match? Dean    Ambrose has been on the outskirts of the WWE World Heavyweight  Championship for over a year now and still the title alludes him. Does  Ambrose deserve the title? Of course, will he be able to take it from the COO of WWE? Perhaps. The speculation here suggests that Roman Reigns will make his WWE return to save his brother from an obvious attack at the hands of The League of Nations, but what if Roman accidentally helps his former Shield brother to lift the World title? That would throw a spanner into the WrestleMania card that has already been announced and it would add a lot of hype to the biggest show of the year in a few weeks time. After three heel WWE World Heavyweight Champions and a Roman Reigns cameo, it feels like it’s time for WWE to become the Ambrose Asylum, after all, we all love an underdog story. WWE Roadblock is live tonight from 12 pm exclusive to the WWE Network.
