Monday Night Raw Power Rankings: Week of August 21st

See how your favourite Monday Night Raw superstars fared in this week's power rankings after SummerSlam!

As far as SummerSlam went, the red brand definitely had the better showing. Let’s be honest with the offerings that Smackdown Live gave us, the tag team match alone could have clinched the win for Monday Night Raw but if you throw in an absolutely stellar main event it isn’t even fair. Let’s do the (dirty) deed(s) and rank the power!

NUMBER 10: SASHA BANKS (+1)

Sasha did away with her bad Brooklyn voodoo and won in the Barclays for the first time recapturing the Raw Women’s Championship. I think the match was solid my criticism is that it never really got out of third gear which led to a sudden anti-climatic finish.

NUMBER 9: NEVILLE (+2)

Neville is once again The King Of The Cruiserweights and to be honest there is not a lot more to say than that.

NUMBER 8: THE MIZ (+2)

This was a tough one to rank as The Miz cut one of the best promos I have ever seen this week, but then went out and failed to back up anything he said as a crowd preferred to chant for beach balls rather than watch him, in addition to a loss and no defence of his title at SummerSlam, I think eight is fair for the awesome one.

NUMBER 7: FINN BALOR (=)

Golly gosh! I love the Demon Finn Balor, that entrance is nothing short of spectacular and anyone who claims Finn lacks charisma lacks either brain cells or the power of vision. Great wins for Finn on Sunday over Bray and on Monday Night over Jason Jordan.

NUMBER 6: SAMOA JOE (-3)

I feel somewhat dirty putting Joe this low but he felt like he had the smallest part in the main event at SummerSlam. In addition to that, he lost to the mega powers who don’t get cheered in Monday Night Raw’s main event. I’m hoping this turns into a program for Cena and Joe though.

NUMBER 5: DEAN AMBROSE AND SETH ROLLINS (=)

Putting these two back together was the best decision WWE could have made. I’m far more compelled in what the pair are doing now than anything they have done in recent months. Getting the tag titles and making Dean the first Grand Slam Champion from the SHIELD is a huge deal.

NUMBER 4: JOHN CENA (FIRST ENTRY)

John Cena made his return to Monday Night Raw and boy, was it a fun one. It culminated in a main event tag win for him and Roman Reigns. It was a good start to his run on Raw.

NUMBER 3: ROMAN REIGNS (+1)

Guys and gals, I think I can actually tolerate Roman. It seems to me that WWE has finally in the last few months woken up and realised the best way to use Roman. They aren’t shoving the idea of him being a babyface down our throats anymore, instead he is a quiet and cocky powerhouse like he should have always been. I like it.

NUMBER 2: BRAUN STROWMAN (=)

Man, just when I thought that Braun couldn’t become a bigger star the mad man goes and does it. SummerSlam 2017 will be remembered as the PPV that made Braun. Can we get to No Mercy already, please? I want that match.

NUMBER 1: BROCK LESNAR (=)

I’ll be honest with you all, I got worked. I thought Brock was dropping the championship at SummerSlam but I was wrong. I don’t know what it is about Brock but in the last month and a half he has started to look like he genuinely cares about what he is doing and a Brock that cares is best for business.
