Only minutes into Monday Night Raw, Commissioner Stephanie McMahon was in the ring speaking to Commissioner Shane McMahon about the upcoming WWE Draft. Stephanie took the lead and made her announcement first as to exactly who would be the General Manager of Monday Night Raw.
Contrary to heavy speculation that Triple H would get the role, the familiar car crash echoed through the arena as the music of one Mick Foley hit. Foley made his way down the ramp and was introduced by Stephanie as the General Manager of Raw. This isn’t Foley’s first foray into this kind of role, as he was a longtime Commissioner back in the early 2000s.
Only moments later, Shane McMahon took the opportunity to make his own announcement of a General Manager that embodied the spirit of SmackDown Live. That familiar riff hit the arena, and the crowd lost it as none other than former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan emerged from the curtain. Bryan has been out of action since he suffered a career-ending neck injury, but now it appears he’ll be back in the mix as the General Manager of SmackDown.
Stay tuned for full coverage of the WWE Draft tomorrow night as these General Managers make their picks to fill their respective brands!
