Five Things To Expect From SmackDown (7 July 2016)

Before you watch tonight's episode of SmackDown, check out our spoiler-free preview with five things to expect!

With only two episodes left before SmackDown moves to Tuesday nights, and goes live, we welcome you to RealSport’s Spoiler-Free preview of tonight’s edition of SmackDown. Here are five things you can expect, as well as a glimpse of some of the matches planned for tonight.

1. Seth Rollins in Action
The Architect will be in action once again on SmackDown, and you can bet he’ll be looking to gain some momentum after what Dean Ambrose did to him on Raw. On that same note, you can pretty much guarantee that Ambrose will play a role in anything Rollins does in some way, shape, or form. With Battleground drawing near, both men need to keep some momentum if they have any hope of walking out as WWE Champion.

2. Zack Ryder vs. Sheamus

The main event of Monday Night Raw saw an absolute cluster of a wrestling match, and near the end two of the last men left were Sheamus and Zack Ryder. Sheamus was the final competitor for the “Multi-National Alliance,” and found himself up against the remains of Team USA in Zack Ryder and Big Show. While Show offered an assist, it was Zack who hit the Rough Ryder on Sheamus for the victory. Will Zack be able to keep rolling after a main event victory, or will Sheamus get some revenge tonight?

3. AJ Styles vs. Enzo Amore

The Club continued their barrage on John Cena this Monday, but for the first time Cena actually got some assistance to even the odds. Big Cass and Enzo Amore both came out to make the save, and The Club found themselves retreating up the ramp. This will prove to be an interesting match, and will likely be the biggest singles match of Enzo’s career so far. This is one you won’t want to miss, but you can probably expect some shenanigans from Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson.

4. Sami Zayn vs. Chris Jericho

The main event of the night will see Sami Zayn and Chris Jericho going one-on-one after being partners this past Monday on Raw. These two competitors are no strangers to one another, due to their involvements in the Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match at WrestleMania, and the Money in the Bank Ladder Match. With his match against Kevin Owens looming at Battleground, this could be a big moment for Sami Zayn. Of course, Kevin Owens probably has different plans.

5. Who will Brock Lesnar face at SummerSlam?

That’s the big question looming on this week’s edition of SmackDown. While several rumoured competitors have been mentioned, and even one was supposedly leaked, nothing is official just yet. It’s worth noting that the announcement was not made during the tapings of this week’s SmackDown that took place on Tuesday night. Instead, the announcement is expected to be edited into the show afterwards. This is clearly an attempt by WWE to push the meaningfulness of watching SmackDown, but can the announcement live up to the hype?

These are just a few things we can expect tonight on SmackDown. Tune in tonight to see how things unfold, and look for our RealSport SmackDown Re-cap tomorrow!
