Five Things To Expect From SmackDown (14 July 2016)

Before you watch tonight's episode of SmackDown, check out our spoiler-free preview with five things to expect!

Before you check out tonight’s final edition of Thursday Night SmackDown, and the last that will not be aired live, here are some of the things you can expect to see!

1. Miz TV with Darren Young & Bob Backlund

This past Monday on Raw, Darren Young managed to win the battle royal to determine the #1 Contender to The Miz’s Intercontinental Championship. While he did have some luck in the matter, the fact remains that Young has a championship shot in his future. This will be the first time we’ve seen Young, and life coach Backlund, in the ring and on the microphone together. The Miz will surely have plenty to say about Young’s chances, but how will Darren respond?

2. Sasha Banks vs. Dana Brooke (Again)

You read that right. Yes, I know they already had a match on Raw. Apparently, Charlotte feels like things might go differently on the second try. Banks will take on Charlotte’s protege once again on SmackDown, and there’s no doubt that she’ll be at ringside to keep a close eye on the match itself. If Sasha handily defeats Brooke once again, will she finally be able to turn her focus to Charlotte and a potential WWE Women’s Championship match?

3. Kalisto vs. Tyler Breeze

On Raw, we saw Breezango finally get on the same page inside the ring as they had a strong victory against the Lucha Dragons. On SmackDown, former United States Champion Kalisto will get the opportunity to get some revenge for his team as he takes on Tyler Breeze in a one on one contest. Both men are likely to have their partners at ringside, but which team will get the upper hand this time?

4. Enzo Amore & Big Cass vs. AJ Styles & Karl Anderson

It seems that, until Battleground, we will continue to see the competitors in the upcoming six-man tag match pitted against one another in every shape and combination imaginable. This week, Enzo & Cass will go up against a slightly different duo in AJ Styles and Karl Anderson. With the shift from Luke Gallows to AJ Styles in this matchup, how will Enzo & Cass fare this time? Will AJ’s skill be too much for the duo without John Cena there to help them?

5. WWE Champion Dean Ambrose vs. Kevin Owens

The planned Main Event for the night will pit WWE Champion Dean Ambrose against Kevin Owens in a non-title contest. While Ambrose and Owens have crossed paths on numerous occasions, this one stands out because it may be the last for some time if Ambrose and Owens are separated in the WWE Draft on Tuesday. Can Dean Ambrose conquer Owens once again, or will The Prizefighter take a victory over the current WWE Champion with him into Draft Day?

Tune in to SmackDown tonight on the USA Network for all this and more!
