As we draw closer to WWE’s much anticipated “Cruiserweight Classic” we here at Real Sport are taking a look at some of the competitors that WWE have handpicked from around the world.
Today the man in the spotlight is Tyson Dux.
Where He Wrestles
Canadian native Tyson Dux has been competing inside the squared circle since he was only 18 years old, and at 38 with nearly two decades of experience under his belt, Dux is a force to be reckoned with. He’s had periods in several independent promotions, brief stints with TNA and Ring of Honor, and even some non-televised and lower card matches with WWE in the past including some on the former secondary show Velocity. Dux teased retirement back in 2011, but is clearly still kicking and will now get a chance to showcase himself on the big stage once again.
Much like several of his fellow countrymen, Tyson Dux is a technical wizard inside the ring. His years of experience and prowess have earned him the nickname “Textbook,” and it fits. Between his certifiable mean streak and masterful approach inside the ring, Dux takes the negative of his age and magnifies it with experience to make him a deadly and calculated competitor.
As fun as it might sound for Dux to finally get his big break in WWE at 38 years of age, it’s unlikely. Depending on who he’s up against, Dux may make it past one round, but he’s likely going to simply put on a great match with a good young talent.
