As we draw closer to WWE’s much anticipated “Cruiserweight Classic” we here at Real Sport are taking a look at some of the competitors that WWE have handpicked from around the world.
Today the man in the spotlight is Mustafa Ali.
Where He Wrestles
Mustafa Ali has been everywhere, he is a true veteran of the squared circle and he knows how to handle himself. He is best known for his work in Dreamwave, where he truly lit up the organisation. He has spent over a decade between the ropes, fighting all the world has to offer in both the cruiserweight and heavyweight divisions. He has shown he will fight anybody and he has experience firmly on his side.
He is the true definition of a high flyer, nothing it seems is off limits when he gets in that ring. A lot of high flyer lose their technique in favour of the shock effect, however Ali is not one of these people. With each passing minute, he seems to improve his technique and his moves are as innovative as they are dangerous. He ends his matches with an inverted 450 splash, which in itself defines his style.
Expectations are low for Ali, because although he is a storied veteran, not much is known about him on the main circuit, with his background mainly being on smaller shows. His first round match isn’t easy either facing fellow veteran Lince Dorado. He has all the tools to keep up with and defeat Dorado, however he is the underdog in this match and might actually be the underdog of the whole tournament. It is highly unlikely to make it past the first round, but if he does, look for him to be the dark horse.
