As we draw closer to WWE’s much anticipated “Cruiserweight Classic” we here at Real Sport are taking a look at some of the competitors that WWE have handpicked from around the world.
Today the man in the spotlight is Lince Dorado.
Where He Wrestles
While his lack of name recognition might make Dorado seem like a newcomer, he’s actually a nine-year veteran inside the ring. The “Golden Lynx” began the first part of his career in Chikara, and continued to compete in there until his departure in 2011. After leaving Chikara, Lince Dorado continued to hone his craft in several independent promotions over the years, including Dragon Gate USA and several others. Most recently, Dorado has found a home in Florida-based promotions Full Impact Pro and IGNITE Wrestling.
On the surface, Lince Dorado is a classic luchador. His time in Chikara gave him a very solid base of not only high-flying and acrobatic moves, but well-timed counters and chain wrestling. Dorado has since honed that skill and given that classic lucha libre style a little edge, and stands out with maneuvers such as a gorgeous shooting star press, a handspring stunner, and a no-handed springboard moonsault known as the “Lynxsault.”
Dorado has a very strong chance of making it a good ways in the tournament. While he’s not quite on the same level as competitors such as Kota Ibushi or other more well-known combatants, expect a great show from Dorado as he makes his case to be the next NXT-signee.
