As we draw closer to WWE’s much anticipated “Cruiserweight Classic” we here at Real Sport are taking a look at some of the competitors that WWE have handpicked from around the world.
Today the man in the spotlight is Jack Gallagher.
Where He Wrestles
While the twenty-four year old Gallagher may look like a young upstart, he’s been competing since all the way back in 2006. Jack has been a staple of the British independent circuit for years, including time with Futureshock Wrestling, Grand Pro Wrestling, and PROGRESS Wrestling. Gallagher has also had a stint in Japan with Pro Wrestling Zero1 in a stable guided by Akebono, the same Akebono that faced Big Show in a sumo-wrestling match. Small world.
In a way, Jack Gallagher is sort of like a smaller version of Kyle O’Reilly, but he looks like the lost Vaudevillain. This manly man, known often as “The Extraordinary” Jack Gallagher, is small, but extremely dangerous. He’s a mat wizard, and his technical skill rivals even tournament favorites such as Kota Ibushi. Gallagher is an intelligent competitor who will use his counters and submission to isolate a body part and get the better of his opponent.
Gallagher should make a good showing in this tournament, and the fact that he got some featured time during WWE’s CWC Bracketology special indicates that they want the viewers to know him. Gallagher is an underdog, but don’t underestimate him.
