Two guys trying to gather some momentum find themselves giving each other setbacks as Tony Nese and Cedric Alexander have been trading wins and losses for the past few weeks both on Raw and on 205 Live. Tonight, both superstars were in Tag Team action as Alexander teamed up with Gran Metalik to take on Nese and his old friend Drew Gulak.
It was a decent tag match overall given the traditional high flying versus brute force and technique. In the end, the team of Alexander and Gran Metalik walked out with the victory but this definitely isn’t the last we will see of them on a weekly basis as Gulak has found resent in Alexander’s flashy offensive style and calls it “showing off”.
No More Poise
Gentleman Jack Gallagher gave The Brian Kendrick another cheap win as he wasted no time and came out swinging for Kendrick, who was already getting the upper hand against Mustafa Ali. It seems like Kendrick indeed bit off more than he could chew when he insulted the great nation of England.
Later in the night, Kendrick told Dasha Fuentes in a backstage interview that he wants to challenge Gallagher to a duel.
Still looking strong
Though not without distraction from TJP, it will always be nice seeing Ariya Daivari win in pinfall fashion which he did when he capitalized on the distraction provided by TJP to hit Rich Swann with the Hammerlock Lariat. Though patriotic gimmicks would only get you as far, it seems like Daivari would be educating the entire 205 Live roster on the glory of his motherland of Iran.
The Countdown to Demise
An emotional celebration by Akira Tozawa as he won the Cruiserweight Title last night on Raw as the new champion had nothing but gratitude to the fans and his manager Titus O’Neil and the entire Titus Worldwide brand. With the victory, Tozawa has proven doubters wrong about dreaming big just like the entire concept of Titus Worldwide.
Neville came out and gave a diatribe of the fallen when he said that Tozawa has made a mockery out of a title that he made prestigious and issued a countdown to Tozawa’s demise. The fallen king warned the champion that he has 114 hours to enjoy his title reign before Neville takes it back in their rematch this Sunday at SummerSlam.
- Cedric Alexander & Gran Metalik def. Tony Nese & Drew Gulak
