205 Live Recap & Results, August 1, 2017: Did Tozawa earn another shot at gold?

Akira Tozawa powers through a shoulder injury while Tony Nese has been imposing his power as of late. Also, will this be the end of a classy Jack Gallagher?

The Gentleman’s Wrath

After another week of The Brian Kendrick berating the great nation of England, Gentleman Jack Gallagher wasted no time unleashing on his American rival even if it meant losing the match. The Man with the Plan had to slip through the WWE Universe just to get away from the gentleman’s rage but is still going home with a win via disqualification.

Picking up momentum as well?

After winning the “Friendly Tag Match” for his team last week, Tony Nese has been on fire as of late as he handily defeated Gran Metalik. Though the luchador put on a good show with his signature flips and spots, it wasn’t enough to defeat WWE’s Premiere Athlete as Nese finished the match with his signature running knee.

The Rematch is set

As expected, Ariya Daivari was going to target the injured shoulder of Akira Tozawa especially in a match with title implications, but the Persian Lion’s most brutal intentions weren’t enough to put The Stamina Monster down as Tozawa managed to power through and even hit his patented headbutt suicide dive to set up his top rope Senton finisher.

The WWE Cruiserweight Champion Neville watched the action from a monitor backstage and allowed his Japanese rival to cherish the moment before they collide in a title match at SummerSlam.

Quick Results

  • The Brian Kendrick def. Gentleman Jack Gallagher via DQ
  • Tony Nese def. Gran Metalik
  • Akira Tozawa def. Ariya Daivari
