With great play sometimes come great losses to teams, here’s a recount on some of the more notable injuries sustained over the weekend throughout the NFL. Tyrann Mathieu- Torn ACL The ‘Honey Badger’ has confirmed both via Twitter and through the Arizona Cardinals media that he is done for the season with a torn ACL Marcus Mariota- Sprained MCL Marcus Mariota sprained his MCL during Sunday’s loss to the Patriots and will miss the remainder of the season, he finishes his rookie year with 2,818 passing yards, 19 touchdowns and 10 interceptions and a completion rate of 62% LeSean McCoy- Sprained MCL LeSean McCoy was knocked out of the Bills fixture vs the Redskins, he is not looking good to be playing in the Week 16 game vs the Dallas Cowboys Melvin Gordon- Undisclosed knee injury Melvin Gordon is now finished for the season due to a knee injury suffered whilst playing against the Dolphins. Gordon finishes his rookie season with 641 yards on 184 attempts alongside 192 yards receiving. Fumbles have affected Gordon’s playing time; having lost the ball on 6 occasions with his opponents recovering it 4 times. Adrian Peterson – Ankle Sprain Adrian Peterson sprained his ankle playing against the Bears, although we’ll probably still see heavy doses of “All Day” vs the Giants.
Andre Roberts – Torn MCL
Reports have come out via Twitter and the Redskins website that Andre Roberts has been placed on season-ending Injure reserve due to a torn MCL in his right knee. He finishes the season with his lowest totals to date; recording 11 receptions for 135 yards, without a single touchdown for the first time since 2009. He also logged 231 yards as a returner, 99 of which were tallied in his touchdown return against the Carolina Panthers.
